FUNCTION
The mains voltage
is applied to the main transformer (4) via the main contractor (1) and
primary thyristors (3). The transformer provides isolation from the
mains and transforms the voltage to the rated output level.
The secondary voltage/current is rectified through the diode bridge
(6) which has a one-way six pulse connection with an interphase transformer
(5).
This connection allows high efficiency with very low harmonic content.
The control unit (8) measures actual DC-current by means of the shunt
(7), actual DC-voltage, and controls the primary thyristors (3) until
set and actual values correspond.
The control unit (8) measures the primary line current via current transformers
(2) and in the event of overload the contactor is tipped.
Set values for current and voltage are supplied from a standard seperate
control panel or can be supplied from an external control system. Standard
signals are 0-10V for both current and voltage.
